Biography

I am a licensed architect in the State of North Carolina. Master's Degree in Architecture: U. Colorado, Denver '97 Bach. Degree Architecture: UNC, Charlotte '93 I live and work in Mocksville, NC I am married to Susan my high school sweetheart. We have a beautiful Daughter, Hazel, a handsome son, Silas, two cats (Loki & Hercules) and two dogs (Astro & Comet)

Statement

Art is my true passion and I do everything I can to include it in my architectural designs, but when dealing with clients, building codes, zoning ordinances & design committees the freedom to create is greatly constrained. I often turn to art to release my creative energies. I have experimented with pencil, pen & ink, pastels, painting and various forms of sculpture. My medium of choice is a combination of pencil or ink sketches used in combination with the digital power of the computer.

Artist History

My parents and brother are all artists to an extent. My Dad works professionally as a portrait artist working mainly in oil paintings and prismacolor pencils. My Mom paints in oils and acrylics and has dabbled in practically every other form of visual art. They both are graduates of the Ringling School of Art in Sarasota Florida. My Brother is a graphic artist and founder of the Iconfactory a graphic design company that specializes in software graphics. I developed an interest in architecture out of high school but never let go of my artistic roots.
